Changsha Xiaoyuan Park

Xiaoyuan Park, located near the Changsha Railway Station, is a small garden-style park constructed by the Changsha Municipal People's Government in 1984 as part of the city's overall urban planning. Covering an area of 3.77 hectares, the park features a "Sino-Japanese Friendship and Peace" bronze group sculpture, a precious gift from Kagoshima City, Japan, to the people of Changsha. The group sculpture consists of four groups of eight Chinese and Japanese youths, standing tall with forward-looking expressions, symbolizing the everlasting friendship and shared commitment to peace between the two nations. The lakeside and hills in the park are dotted with several uniquely designed pavilions. Various flowering plants grow here, including cherry blossoms, osmanthus, magnolias, and water lilies. Additionally, the park has a children's play area with various human and animal sculptures.

In recent years, Xiaoyuan Park has undergone renovations, which are centered on "ecology" and emphasize "smallness, refinement, elegance, and tranquility". Despite its compact size, the park boasts lush greenery and vibrant flora, offering a serene retreat amidst the bustling city.
