The Memorial Museum of Comrade Liu Shaoqi is the only biographical museum which completely and systematically displays Liu Shaoqi's life and achievements. The museum opened on November 24, 1988 and covers an area of more than 2,700 square meters, with buildings designed to follow the landscape style of the Jiangnan region of China. The plaque "Memorial Museum of Comrade Liu Shaoqi" hanging at the main entrance of the memorial hall was inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping in 1987.
