Hunan's exports of construction machinery expanded 27.6% year on year in the first two months of this year to 5.07 billion CNY, data from the Changsha Customs Authority showed on March 17, 2025.

General trade has played a principal role while processing trade and bonded logistics increased significantly. In the first two months, Hunan has exported construction machinery valued at 3.97 billion CNY through general trade, growing by 18.8% year on year; 720 million CNY through processing trade, rising 56.4%; and, 360 million CNY based on bonded logistics, up 114.7%.

Private businesses have played a leading role, while foreign-funded enterprises kept growing. Between January and February, Hunan's private businesses exported 3.26 billion CNY of construction machinery, growing by 35.2% and accounting for 64.4% of the province's total. The construction machinery export value of the foreign-funded enterprises rose 15.5% year on year to 1.77 billion CNY and accounting for 35% of the province's total. Exports of the state-owned enterprises hit 29.38 million CNY, up 47.6% compared with the previous year.

Saudi Arabia and Indonesia were main export markets of Hunan's construction machinery products. In the first two months, Hunan exported 470 million CNY of construction machinery to Saudi Arabia, increasing by 12.4%, and 420 million CNY to Indonesia, growing by 57.2%. Meanwhile, increased exports to Middle Eastern, ASEAN, and African countries reached 1.24 billion CNY, 890 million CNY, 440 million CNY, up 49%, 49.3%, and 70.3% respectively.

Special motor vehicles, bulldozers, and forklifts were major exported products. In the first two months, Hunan Province exported 1.46 billion CNY of special motor vehicles and 1.15 billion CNY of bulldozers, excavators, and road rollers, up 27.5% and 22.2% respectively.
