The Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television announced that, after having just participated in the provincial "Two Sessions", Changsha issued an inbound tourism promotion work plan for 2025. The plan proposed to fully leverage the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, and put forward a range of incentives from the aspects of motivating tourism agencies and platforms to attract tourists to come and stay in the city, encouraging the exploration of overseas markets, and optimizing the inbound tourism environment. With policies as bonds, the plan aims to promote synergy between efficient government and effective market, foster a positive pattern to jointly boost Changsha's inbound tourism development, and build the city into an internationally renowned tourist city.

In 2024, Changsha Huanghua International Airport handled 1.06 million inbound trips. Meanwhile, Changsha received 777,800 inbound tourist trips, and the foreign exchange earnings from foreign tourists amounted to 339 million USD, up 118.89% and 217.09% respectively. Changsha was listed among "Top 100 Global Destinations of 2024", and the Wuyi Business District once became a "Cantonese District" due to the gathering of tourists from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
